Lesia Mescudi Davis, the creative force behind Usalon, is a renowned colorist, stylist, and author with a passion for organic products and herbal hair treatments. Her journey as a hair herbalist and author has led to the creation of Usalon, located in Historic Buckhead. At Usalon, the focus is on delivering exceptional colors, precision cuts, healthy straightening techniques, and staying ahead of the latest hair trends. Lesia M. Davis is an artist and entrepreneur... a wife, mother, sister, daughter, & friend. She is a visionary... who is able to see beauty before it is visible to the naked eye. That vision is a gift that has served her well throughout her decades long career as a master stylist, cutter, colorist, and educator. It was her vision to open Usalon in Historic Buckhead in the early 2000's. Davis’ regular clientele come weekly to get pampered, coiffed, and feel a sense of community with the like-minded people who are also drawn to U Salon. Davis’ life work began as child’s play.
Her first clients started in Cleveland, Ohio, that play turned into a passionate pursuit of excellence in finding the best techniques to grow and maintain healthy, beautiful hair. Early in her career, she was tapped to open salons on the East Coast for Glemby International. Davis later worked at the salon at Saks 5th Avenue, which proved an invaluable experience. Davis also worked at Azar Salon, a last stop, before buying her building and becoming the only black commercial salon owner in Buckhead.
Throughout her career Davis has cultivated hair and relationships with a goal to improve every woman’s crown and confidence. It’s work that has been lauded on numerous occasions over the years. Davis has been seen on CBS and ABC talking healthy hair and about entrepreneurship during a pandemic. She has also been published in trade magazines including, “Black Hair,” and “Atlanta Hair.” "Cleveland Plain Dealer", "Ladies Home Journal," and most recently in "The Atlantan Magazine."
Lesia has won several awards for her work and has been named "Best of Atlanta" to name a few. At times, she has also played as hard as she’s worked, as a member of USTA and ALTA tennis teams. (She even won a bag tag!) When she is not at Usalon,
Davis is being active in her church and community. Davis was a member of the Atlanta Business League and the Atlanta Chamber of Commerce. She enjoys serving as President for her Toastmasters Club. Her greatest responsibilities are as wife to James and mother to Mars.
